As 2007 draws to a close, I'm sure everyone is quite busy. Finalizing plans for the holidays, finishing out the semester, and even more personal, once-in-a-lifetime events like planning a wedding. In the midst of the hustle and bustle of life, I was reminded about balance. I'm not talking about doing just what is needed to keep from collapsing, but true balance in Christ. The Bible is riddled with examples of how God has created harmony and balance, and is Himself perfectly balanced. Love and wrath, justice and mercy...God is all at the same time. So remember to not only take the time this holiday season to rest and enjoy your loved ones, but also reach out to those who may not have the blessing of loved ones. Look to not just experience God yourself, but ask Him to allow someone else to experience Him through you. A healthy balance of experiencing and sharing is the proper mixture for growth in your Christian faith. Without experience, we grow anemic, and without sharing, we grow fat and lazy. So search after Christ this holiday season, stay in His Word, and sow a great crop that may reap a bountiful harvest through next year!
