Camp-out Cancelled, BUT there is a Plan B *click 4 details*

As much as we hate it, due to the lack of rainfall and dry conditions there is a statewide “No Burn” in effect and we are therefore going to reschedule our campout for a time when we can have a campfire. We have called State Forestry every day for a week now hoping the ban would be lifted…however it has not. In the process of planning for our campout, we have visited two different locations that would very conducive for camping and we will utilize them in campouts to come. For now however…..plan B.

I have mentioned in the recent past that I would like us to build a Christmas manger scene for the church landscape this year. Maybe this is a good time to do that. We will meet at our house, 2128 Oakton Drive, Raleigh at 6:00 p.m. Friday for Gail’s homemade spaghetti. After dinner we will construct our Lord’s manger scene. This will entail building a two sided barn 12 feet long, cutting out figurines form plywood (Mary, Joseph, and Wiseman), purchasing fabric for our figures and dressing them. We’ll store it here at our house and then on Saturday, December 1st we’ll come together and put them up on the hill at church where we place the crosses at Easter. It will be something that our College and Career can do for our church for the Christmas season.

Following dinner and our project, at 8:30 we will come together in the atrium at church for coffee, deserts and to hear our guest speaker, Michael Chadwick. Mike has a powerful testimony that you will not want to miss… I promise. I do not even know what Mike will speak on, however God has brought him from a hard life of sin around the Washington D.C. area to be brought to his knees in search of God. Please ask a friend, lost or saved, to join you. This could be the very thing that makes a difference in a person’s life that you know.

Following Mike’s devotion, for those interested, there will be a glow-in-the- dark Ultimate Frisbee game on the ball field (luminary necklaces will be provided).

Those interested may also stay over at the Ellis house after the event for a "lock-in" type evening to carry on the fellowship over to Saturday.

I encourage you to invite someone to this evening of fun and fellowship. If you have suggestions, questions or need directions, please email Mr. Mac at ellis@ncuc.net or call 612-6552. Thanks and see you Friday night. Be strong saints.
